Indiana Medicaid DUR Board

The purpose of the Indiana Medicaid DUR Board is to serve in an advisory capacity to Indiana Medicaid with regard to the prescription and dispensing of drugs by Medicaid providers and the use of drugs by Medicaid recipients.  The Board membership is composed of representatives of the pharmacy, medical, and scientific communities and has a responsibility to establish criteria for both retrospective review and prospective surveillance of drug prescription and dispensing for and use by Medicaid recipients.  Through the expert opinion of the board members, aided, when appropriate, by consultants, the board will provide the Medicaid Agency with advice on matters of drug usage so as to allow for the appropriate and cost effective delivery of medical and pharmaceutical care.

The DUR Board advises on formularies, prior authorization programs, and produces newsletters that address educational issues that relate to the prescribing and utilization of prescription drugs.  The annual report contains a summary of the prior federal fiscal year drug utilization review performed by the DUR board.

Regular meetings are held to review issues relating to the board.  This site contains the meeting schedule and agenda for upcoming meetings.  Meeting minutes are also available for prior meetings.  If you would like to submit a topic for discussion at a board meeting, please complete a Speaker Request Form.

Contact information for the DUR Board can be found here.
