How do I report my NPI to IHCP?

Once providers receive their NPI from the NPPES, they must report it to the IHCP. The IHCP will match each reported NPI to the provider’s current IHCP provider number (called the Legacy Provider Identifier or LPI) or First Steps number and billing provider office location.
A password is needed to access the NPI Reporting Tool. Passwords were mailed to providers in letter form. Contact EDS Customer Assistance at 317-655-3240, or 800-577-1278, if you cannot locate your notification letter.
Before beginning the reporting process, ensure the following information is available:
- Tax identification number
- Password to access the reporting tool
- Contact name, phone number, and email address (if applicable)
- Taxonomy codes associated with each provider number being reported
